I have an electrical fault and my autoelectrician is wanting the wiring diagram for the ECU. I have searched the net but cant seem to find it.

Would anyone know where I could find one?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi mate,

Most people download Elsawin

I downloaded a couple of years back for free... It take a bit of getting around but it has all the wiring diagrams and everything you will ever need

Hope this helps you and your auto lecky :biggrin3: :blackrs4:

Thanks for that, will have a look.

Currently the engine management light is on, have had the codes read. Manifold flap sensor (malfunction lower limit reached), knock sensor 1 & 2 (no plausible signal).

Therefore my autoelectrician requires the diagram to be able to find the required wiring.

You say you have had the codes read, after copy save, did the codes get cleared down and retried?

Cheers good luck

Doesn't sound like a wiring issue...looks more like one of the flap position sensors died (it should tell you bank 1 or 2 when you pull the code). The knock sensors are shared between cylinders (i.e. cyl 1 & 2 share 1 sensor). It may just be picking up noise from that area.

I had knock sensor 1 replaced and flap sensors swapped between bank1 and bank2 to see it was a faulty sensor.

After doing this the faults were still the same.

When looking in VCDS, are you able to see knock voltage from the other sensors? Specifically what happens when you pull up knock sensor #1?

Have you done a flap actuation test to ensure your flap solenoid & both flap actuators are working properly?

Yep flap actuators and solenoid are both working. Solenoid was replaced, recently. There is vacuum there.

Will have to check for voltage from other sensors.

The area where the ECUs are mounted has a drain that often gets blocked, which can cause apparent electrical faults like this.

Have you checked that area?

That was my first thought so checked that and all was good. Thanks for your thoughts though.

I'm just hard-pressed to believe you actually have a wiring issue in a 10yr old car. It's more likely the nodes on one end or the other. Since you've essentially proved out the end nodes, how about the points in-between...Have you ever replaced any of your relays? I replaced my 614 relays in the ECU case while tracking down a different electrical issue and they have a new revision (644). May not be your solution, but food for thought...
