Wheel Opinions

Hi,
I'm just after some honest opinions please. Recently purchased an RS4 with 20"x10" Anthracite BBS wheels on it. See picture;
Now i'm not overly keen on the style of the wheel and i certainly don't like the colour so my dilemna is do i change the colour and still not really like the style or do i change (sell) the wheels and buy some i do like. Having just bought the car i haven't got stacks of money to be throwing at original 20" audi alloys so i've seen these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262298259944? ... EBIDX%3AIT
They're cheap enough at that price to get painted in whatever colour i want so what do you guys think?
Thanks.

Check out "julesloose" on
Instagram as he has some OEM RS5 20x9 ET26 wheels for sale, £1500 with good tyres.
You should get the same sort of price for yours.
Good luck.

Really not sure what they are worth? Got the original invoice here and they were just over £3k with tyres when they were new.
Selling them with the continental tyres they have on i'd probably want no less that £1k

I'd have a look through the classifieds to see what prices other 20" rims have sold for.
To establish how much the tyres are worth, first thing is to measure the tread depth.
This is purely my opinion:
If you consider the usable life is really from 8mm (new) to about 3mm, you can calculate what percentage of their life is remaining. E.g. At 5.5mm, they're 50% gone. Let's assume a tyre is worth £100 new, 50% is £50, and I'd take another 20% ish off purely because they're secondhand = £40. That's what I'd expect to pay for that tyre.

Thanks for that, looking at the tyres i'd estimate about 4mm tread depth so whoever buys them would be looking at new tyres within the next 12 months, dependant on mileage of course.
Not sure i want to go down the route of colour change and the expense on these if i'm still not going to be happy with them.

The advert States Tt Rs style wheels. But the Tt Rs wheels are unlikely to fit your car so you want rs4 / rs5 rotors which are 20x9 et26. The advert States et25 which ove never heard of before. This may be a typo bit the wrong size / offset rotor will look just like an A4 wheel as it won't that the concavity of the rs4/5 wheels.

Well my personal opinion is that the car looks pretty bloody awesome as it is. Love the wheel style and the colour matches the optics nicely

Many Thanks,
Well its looking like it may be a repaint, probably some new tyres (or other way round) and some spacers.
The more i've looked at aftermarket wheels, the more i've become confused. I contacted CM Wheels about the Rotors in the ebay link and they said they do fit the RS4 but you've got me doubting that now. I certainly can't extend my finances at the moment to a preferred set of OEM Rotors so i'll just have to suck it and see what crops up in the future...................

Why not collect a set of OEM 19inch wheels (full set in one go, or 1 at a time), then get them the colour you want. Wait until your original tyres are finished, then sell your 20inch wheels as wheels only. At that point, you would have had to buy new tyres anyway for the 20s, so buying 19s won't be more expensive. Now assume you get at least the same for your 20s that you've paid for the 19s and you've now hardly spent anything.
BTW, I'm with you - I hate dark wheels. Just a personal opinion as lots of people also hate OEM silver.
Cheers,
Bryan

I'm not a fan of black wheels either, but i've got to say, those do sit beautifully on the car. I think just a colour change is needed imo.
