Hi,
I've wanted and RS4 for about 10 years now, finally the nessecary spondoolies to go get one so looking for a good one. Saw this one....
http://www4.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/ ... friend_car
I've read the buyers guide on here & all about DRC issues etc but wondered if anyone had any experience of one fitted with SPAX?
Anything else obviously wrong with this one? Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
Daf

Looks like a decent example, but only a viewing/checking of paperwork and HPI will reveal if anything is out of sorts.
Sorry, not familiar with SPAX.

Think I've seen that for sale before as the spax rings a bell as I'd not seen them fitted before . Go look and hpi it

back in the day (20+years ago) I remember Spax being quite common on mini's/fords etc and the factory used to be here in Jersey. In recent years I think they had some bad reviews and issues with reliability etc and had dropped off the map in terms of established suspension kits. Whilst still not a big player apparently (according to their website) Richard Noble used spax on thrust SSC 2 and 'all his cars'. Now it may be that they spax kits are absolutely fine........the odd thing is though I cant seem to find ANY reference to them making a kit for the B7 RS4.......B5 S4 yes, then kits for standard B7 A'4's, but no RS4 kit. Assuming the Hpi check/paperwork all ,looks good I would try and confirm the spax kit was actually meant for the car, you could also call spax (tel 01869 244771).

Thanks for the comments, I was a little suspicious as not heard of Spax on an RS4 B7 either. I will check, thanks chaps.

assuming you haven't already, you may want to check the classified section out on here. A couple of avants for sale at the moment, in particular this is a nice example;

Nice thing is usually any cars sold on here on very well maintained, and importantly, known to the other site members - trust me that counts for a lot as I know from my own painful experience if you get it wrong with these cars they have the ability to do more financial damage than the missus on a girls weekend in the big smoke with your credit card.

This car was sold on ebay a few months back for £15,500. Clearly the seller is a trader. Just be cautious.

Wouldn't bother going to look at that one TBH.
SPAX are crap, bonnet/bumper gap is pissed, rear valance has overspray from a shoddy paint job, mirror bases are peeling, steering wheel badge and buttons peeling and the foot pedal rubbers are excessively worn. Cheap cars are cheap for a reason.

Jeez Sam, you don't miss much. I had to do a double take to get them all, but you are right enough.

I had SPAX coilovers on my '98 polo 1.4cl. I got them because I was a broke student and they were cheap. And rubbish.
Sam has eagle eyes!

That's not a cheap RS4 , bumper gap is easy adjusted etc . I wouldn't touch any car fitted with Spax as there crap . Koni has always been my choice .

I quite like them in silver, classy, understated and anti-chav.
Looks in good condition too.
