Parking sensor display

Post by chuckrs4 » Sat Feb 20, 2016 10:56 pm

I know on some of the newer audis you get a display come on the navi system for the park sensors. Is it possible to set it up on the rs4? Cheers

I think you would need the mk2 rns-E to start with.

Not even possible with the Mk2 RNS-E.

The "CAR" button on the RNS-E is a complete joke...

I had this on my 09 S3, and miss it in my RS4. Shame it's not a simple mod.

It's for the same reason that the speed limit display doesn't work on the Mk2 RNS-E - the data simply isn't passed onto the Infotainment CAN bus on the B7.

How about updates for the rns-e. Is it just a case of getting a new disc for 7 digit postcodes or is it a new unit again? If it is what would be the best type unit to go for or does that code a fortune?

7 digit postcodes are not available with a genuine Audi DVD, only with a DVD (not a pressed one but a burnt one) from a third-party. Personally I won't let a copied DVD anywhere near my RNS-E (as a Moderator on audiforum.us I've seen far too many cases of lasers failing after use of copied DVDs).

If you want a Mk2 RNS-E then you need either an A3 or TT one fitted with an A4 faceplate.
