Vibrating on Full Lock

I recently purchased an avant with SS+ and I have noticed that on full lock I get a vibrating sound which sort of shakes the car.

It happens on full lock left or right. Is this a characteristic of the car? Or something untoward that needs looking into?

Is the problem like the car is under steering at car park speeds, and you’re getting a front tyre bounce/scrub sensation through the wheel?

Although it does become more prominent, when the tyre tread depths are low and/or toe alignment out of spec.

+1

It's worse on tyres that are more than half worn or in cold temperatures too.

Get someone to drive it while you're in the boot. See if you can feel it while in there.

Mine did this when coming off my drive. A weird feeling but I've had 4 wheel hunter alignment last week and since then It's stopped.

I wouldn't have thought so . Take the car and have the tracking etc checked

I would agree with others that it is normal, but made more noticeable if the tyre treads are low.
I bought my b7 avant a few weeks ago, and the feeling/vibration was quite bad, but as I wasn't happy with the Dunlop tyres that were on it, I've just had a set of Michelin pilot 3s fitted, and it's hardly noticeable now. :kissmyrings:

I have this and my tread is 4mm. Use to have this also in my Scrooby when the tyres would get low. I put it down to the tyres and the 4wd system
