Afternoon gents,
My rear heated screen doesn't work, it hasn't since I bought the car two months ago! Now I've done the simple thing an changed the fuse with no joy! Are there any common faults or any suggestions to why it isn't working?
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Re: Rear heated screen problem
The heated rear screen is also used as one of the aerials for the radio.BiebaRS4 wrote:My rear heated screen doesn't work, it hasn't since I bought the car two months ago! To avoid interference on the radio there is a filter in series with the feed to the heated rear screen that separates the power from the aerial signal, I suspect that may be your problem - it's a not uncommon fault on Audis.

Where is this filter located?? My heated screen doesn't work either plus my radio reception is terrible so I highly suspect this could be my problem too, what do you think??PetrolDave wrote:The heated rear screen is also used as one of the aerials for the radio.BiebaRS4 wrote:My rear heated screen doesn't work, it hasn't since I bought the car two months ago! Sounds like the likely culprit.RSCosworth wrote:Where is this filter located?? My heated screen doesn't work either plus my radio reception is terrible so I highly suspect this could be my problem too, what do you think??
IIRC it's behind the trim above the rear window on the saloon, and behind the rear side trim (can't remember if it's LHS or RHS) on the Avant.
