Alright lads.
Is there anyway of keeping these flaps open all the time in s mode? I know you can remove the vak lines to keep them open but i like that i can shut it up abit when coming home late,
So i was woundering if i could wire in or change the vak lines some how so once in s mode the flaps open an stay open continuously untill i turn it off.
Cheers

Sort of, you could wire a switch to activate the flaps independantly of the sport button. This means you could have them alwyas closed or always opened. If you make it a 3 way switch you can add a 3rd mode which makes it operate as normal. This has been discussed before on here.
There is a french company that makes a remote controlled device but when I spoke to the company it didn't work exactly how I wanted it to so didn't go through with it (can;t recall the details but it is on here soehwere and was pretty much plug and play I think).

When I bought my car somebody had done a good old mechy engineers mod - drilled a small hole through the the bottom under the valve flaps, 3mm diameter or so, tapped them then screwed in 2 bolts about 50mm long to hold the flaps open. I took the bolts out and the valves were (and still are) sized open. No vac or scary electrical mods - simples!

If you pull the vac lines off then you MUST plug them - as the vac controls flaps (intake and airbox) on the engine and without the vac you'll lose maybe as much as 60bhp because of that.

I've removed the vac lines and plugged them with golf tees ... works perfectly, using a couple of fuel line clamps to be completely sure. With light throttle I don't think the noise is any louder than with the valves closed ... I think it's worth trying this simple 10-minute solution before rewiring.
