Hi all,
I just noticed at the garage a slick on the concrete underneath the front bumper, seems to be coming from behind the driver side aux rad.
You can see the drip forming at the bottom of the arch liner. Its coming out at quite a rate!
Can I drive around with a bottle of water to top up for now until i book it in on Monday, or is putting water and not kosher coolant in the tank a definite no no in these cars?

Hi
Most likely the aux rad leaking. Its a bumper off job. Common fault. Keep an eye on your coolant level however.

I'll keep some water in the boot and get it booked into Unit 20.
Thanks all.

There is a diy for aux rad removal very easy to do and also taking bumper off is not hard of you are good with screwdrivers

Am I right in thinking I can do away with one of the rads in favour of a CAF?

Absolutely, CAF's are a great mod. Extra noise, you will love it.

Yip. £45 for the kit of fleebay and 2 hours' labour at your trusted indie if you don't fancy the job yourself. Well established mod, so no need to worry about "what ifs".
Cheers,
Bryan

As above, you don't want to move the actual air filter, just add a pipe to direct cold air from the fog light grill up into the air box. If you have a standard airbox I think the opening is about 89mm so that is the right size to go for, but I have the Revolution air filter kit which is open at the bottom and I found a big difference when I swapped the 89mm hose for a 102mm hose with trumpet.

It wasn't coolant, it was oil. The cooler pipes are goosed, goodbye £1200!

Bloody pipes! Fortunately the usual excellent service from Unit 20 has pulled me out of the <beep> as I'm due to go away with the misses this weekend, top work.
