Actually very very sensible! Faisal, worth capturing these before and after on each too.

Not done any for a few weeks now. The tablet in my car has gone flat. I'll charge it tonight and do some logging tomorrow. But, it was fairly warm when I did the last tests, the damp mornings and evenings we have at the minute should give higher readings.

What if we just stop all this talk of dirt and spend £80 on new buttons. With insane mode written on then!

I'm in for the group by on that! Proper bragging rights! "Oh yes it might be 740bhp but I've got.... Insane mode!"

It's boring on the train today as you can tell...
LOL I didn't realise I sounded like I was talking about a Tesla, but you're right, we really need an insane button.

Mike, how do you do the MAF test? Get the car warm, 3rd gear pull to redline a few times?

I've got a bluetooth OBD2 off ebay, not had a chance to play with it yet. One of these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261530551930? ... EBIDX%3AIT

I've also ordered myself a USB borescope, should arrive tomorrow

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B015 ... ge_o00_s00

I've been told on my Golf, I can get into the intake by taking off the intake temp sensor (one T30 screw) next to the dipstick and feeding the probe through the hole there. Is there a similar trick on the RS anyone is aware of?

My first time inserting a probe into an orifice in my car you see, need some guidance from you experts...

Pretty much but I do it in 2nd gear otherwise I'll be going way over the speed limit. Sport mode on. I tried to do it with similar ambient temps and similar oil and water temps for consistensy each time. The only problem is that I only did one run before the clean and found that after the clean I'd hit maximum readings on the 2nd attempt.

I think I have to change to 3rd at about 60 which is the speed limit on most of the roads around here.

London is going down to 20!!! Weird! I could cycle faster and I'm no cyclist!

Torque OBD or something similar. I have the paid version bit I can't remember if that makes any difference here. I know it gives a choice of Skins but I might have paid for it for the HUD option. Or was it to log? I'm pretty sure the free version will do for you in the first instance so give that one a go first.

Also, I had to try different gauge types to find one that logged the peak Maf reading with actual numbers rather than an orange marker on a dial which can be hard go get an exact reading from afterwards .

Thanks for the tip Mike.

I downloaded the torque OBD app, paid version. Took a bit of messing about but found the screen that records the exact peak reading. Managed a few runs in the Golf last night and took down the readings. Looks like a handy app! Much easier than plugging in a VCDS + laptop.

I also used my cheapo borescope to get some (grainy) pics of the back of the valves in the Golf as well.

Will repeat the process tonight on the RS, once I figure out how to get into the intake!
