Hi

Is there any reason why the local dealer should not be able to print the system-based history they hold for my car?

JCT600 in York have failed to properly fulfil repeated requests eg sent page one of a four page detailed history, I've reasked and they will only send the Service History (and this isn't complete!).

Are they inept, or is there a reason why they are reluctant? Will anyone else help me eg Audi Customer Service (ie has anyone tried?)

Damien Smith from JCT 600 has come back and said that I am not entitled to any previous history without the permission of the previous owner which frankly I think is crap as there are no Data Protection implications.

Was there same here in Ireland, I was missing some service receipts for her and I knew what garages had done the work. They would confirm the car was there, but wouldn't give me any info on the work done or print outs etc. said the same thing, the invoices are in someone else name and they would have to request them.

Yes Dorothy in the Service department at JCT600. Just go in with q smooth approach and I'm sure she will help. Some dealers say that, others are more relaxed.

Simply respond that without it you wont be purchasing. Would they rather you put a deposit down, got the details, then withdrew your deposit, wasting everyone's time?

thats total bollocks! data protection my arse!! something smells fishy theres a reason some where along the line why they not playing ball...all you want is history of car not previous owners details...kick arse mate

My apologies. In that case it is full of crap - you should be fine to have those details.
