Hi guys

This couldn't have come at a worse time but at the weekend the EPC light came on at the weekend and didn't go away. Ran diagnostics this morning and had a couple of errors with the engine have come up. Fired her up to move her for the builders, she did sound a tad funny and the check engine light is now lit up as well as the EPC light. I cleared the codes after copying them out.

I had to drive the car to the office, got emergencies to deal with. EPC light came on immediately but the check engine has not come on yet. Codes are as follows -

Apologies in advance, I haven't used the search function yet, I have a client with the world's oldest server that has died and despite me telling them time and time again that they needed to replace it, they didn't and it is all my fault of course........

Will go searching as soon as I realistically have the time but any help gratefully received in the meantime thanks.

Sounds like my recent faults, I'm having a decoke as with 75k on the clock this is most likely reason sensors having faults I'm told

She was decoked by AMD Essex by the previous owner about 8k miles before I bought her (around 74k miles) and apart from the other half driving the car more than me, I use all of the rev range as much of the time as possible, no point in not driving it like you stole it. However, I hold zero faith in AmD's quality of work after the bloody awful remap job they did on our old S3 that MRC of course fixed.....

Thanks guys, I spoke to MRC earlier today and have bit the bullet. She is going in for a damned good deflapping, carbon clean again if needed, remap and 20k service. Oh, none of that cold quiet start rubbish though, I like making noise for the neighbours.

If you are getting a code for both flaps bank 1 and bank 2, it would probably suggest a wiring issue. Or possibly a vacuum leak, which in turn will not turn the flaps.

Because something just doesn't feel "right" about a stone cold engine with oil as thick as treacle on a cold winters morning starting and going straight to 2000+ rpm.

Ok, strangely enough I never thought about it like that, are the revs actually as high as that?

I have gone a little mad with the list for MRC now -

Deflapping, full carbon clean, 20k service, stage 2 remap, stage 2 manifold, gutted precats, Cold Airfeed kit, braided hoses all round.

Unsure about launch control/flat shift tbh, have had Launch Control in previous cars and felt it was too mechanically cruel on the cars to use it, have never experience flat shift so curious about it.

With standard 090 Audi software yes they are on a cold day.

Many miles since the last carbon clean?

She is on about 88k miles currently. The AmD receipt from December 2012 shows at "ENGINE DE-COKE" and the mileage was recorded as 73k, bought her at about 82k miles. While madam drives her more than me and is gentler on the car, I drive the car properly (aka lots and lots of foot to the floor) and use the revs whenever I possibly can

Will be interesting to see MRC's findings in this case. I'm sure stage 2 will equal Happy days.

I've got exactly the same issues and am also booked in to MRC for a decoke. Mines in 81k and has never had it done!
