I've just had my steering wheel, handbrake and gaitor retrimmed (looks great don't you think... going for the red accents) however I thought when the wheel went back on the airbag light would have gone off (did when I had my seat belts rewebbed) or does it need to be reset with VAG?

Every time I've had a seatbelt warning light I had to reset it it with
VCDS. Mine came on when I drove it with no passenger seat fitted. Even when I refitted the seat the warning stayed on. I'd asume it is the same for the wheel but only if you started the car when the wheel was removed.

Royal Steering wheels did the whole Job for £190 including shipping back....Jacks a great guy there and done the same on my old C4s. Steering wheel on its own was £120, small price to pay for what makes a massive difference in looks and feel.

That looks great. Like the red seatbelts too Where did you get those from ?. Have you got them in the rear as well ? Are they hard to replace ?

Top man, thanks. I wondered if it was Royal. Jack's work comes with high praise from the M3 guys too.

Hi Dhali...yep red in the rear too. I had them rewebbed by Airbag team in Hinkley Leicester. Charged me £120 for all 5 belts. Bit of a bitch to get the rears out though especially the one centre one in the rear seat, my hand has only just returned to normal from the angles I had to inflict upon it to get it in and out!
Next Job is to get the seat backs done red and the door cards in Alcantara with Red stitching and perhaps the dash top!

Hi Mike...lets put it this way I bought some wrap had a go and I now understand why my good lady does the Christmas presents! So I've decided to get them professionally painted, just not sure whether to go matt or gloss finish?
You wrapping looked a lot better than mine, your white seats look quality.

When removing airbag's etc you should always remove the minus pole from the battery. This way you will not have the airbag warning light on either.
If the warning light is on a simple fault reading and reset with
VCDS is enough. You you think the fault reading takes too long (it does take a while) you can reset the warning light straight in the steering wheel module.

Phone ross-tech as their support is second to none.

Silly question but did you load the latest software and usb drivers for the cable properly?
Also you get a test window up and click on USB.

Do you have the cable plugged into the car and the ignition turned on?
