Hi Guys
Picked up a set of front brake pads today from Euro Car Parts as the warning light is on
Got home and noticed the pads don't have a sensor wire??
Do they come separate? or have a just bought the cheap pads (TRW Pads)

Normally the sensor wire comes attached to 2 out of the 8 pads. Some pads have no sensors though. Not necessarily a cheap thing though as the Ferrodo DS2500 pads which are very good have no sensors.

But if they have no sensors will that mean the warning light on the dash will stay on?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think you need to short the wires out to make the light come on so no sensors will mean no warning.

Yes you need to short the wires to trick the car.

This...
On a 1700kg with cica 400+BHP, is that really wise?
OEM Audi ones are Pagid and are different to the cheap Pagid ones you can get from Eurocar Parts as well.

Take them back and exchange them for the TRW ones with sensors . I use them with no problems
OEM Audi ones have nasty rivets in (Another thread on here ) which score the discs .

Only the original very early one pads did that.

Fitted Ferodo DS2500's last month, they're not cheap but man are they good. Been to the ring since and they are really impressive all round pads.

Also check out the Ferodo premier pads.. I have recently had them fitted along with new discs and they are fantastic.. without giving off abrasive dust that is difficult to clean and can cause damage to discs. Gave them a test around the Evo triangle last weekend and was very very impressed.

Would also be interested in details on the Ferodo premier pads
Related question, so didn't want to start a new thread...
Am about to buy some 8 pot RS calipers to go on my S8 and the following pads are offered with them:
I've been around long enough to know that Pagid in the UK = ECP own brand made by TMD in China, but also that at some point in time some lines were still coming out of German factories for RS etc. E1 approval mark is Germany, which is at least encouraging, but they're also marked Textar which is just another TMD line. ECP don't list these any more, only TRW.
Anyone used these to know if they're more 'OEM' than cheap and nasty? Car isn't tracked and if these are as likely as not OEM in a different box then I'd run them, but if they're the fall apart at the first sign of use kind then obviously I will swerve and look elsewhere. Being R90 approved they ought to be within a set % of OEM performance....

I have a set of the ferodo premier and I find them very dusty. A lot more than OEM.
New discs are all clogged up after about 1.5k miles
