Cheers pal, that's that idea outs the window,£600 for the decent 3m kit is barely cheaper than a front end paint job! Oh well

Whilst not exactly what it is for, GTechniq C1 and Exo coatings made a world of difference to my paint. Went from having to touch up most weeks to barely at all.

Indeed it's not. But with a respray you have to live with the stone chips until you're thinking of selling the car, then get it resprayed JUST before you sell it. Doesn't make any sense to me...
The 3m stuff helps protects the car from stonechips (IE, you get 95% less in the first place or whatever) before they happen. So you get a double whammy - protection whilst you have the car, then remove the film and it's 'as good as new' when you need it.
The alternative is a £1000 front end respray every year
Dont forget the wrap also protects headlights and wing mirrors too. Once the wing mirrors are chipped its a nasty/expensive job getting those cleaned up.

Why not see if you can find some wider elephant tape? Its what we use on mountainbikes, pretty good stuff, might be worth a look into. Just and idea.

Some people just don't get it
Yes you might be able to get a bumper respray for £400....but then you drive it home from the body
Shop and BOOM you get a massive stone chip....what you gonna do? Drive back and do it again? No, you are going to live with an unsightly stone chip until you get more and more and then at some point decide you have enough to warrant the £400...all the while the front end looks <beep>
Just shield it and enjoy it looking brand new every day ever after and never worrying about a dodgy colour match and dodgy bumper fitting etc ETc

I known right!, it's gonna have to come off and refitted when I get back.
Some people just don't get it, if you worry about stone chips, trolley bashes, other drivers, kerbs, and a stray zebra on the motorway then you would never leave your driveway.

Why did you get your bumper resprayed if you were cool with the stone chips?
I have paint protection. I don't worry about stone chips at all.

Other than zebras on the motorway, I mitigate the rest by using common sense - where I park, not driving into kerbs like an idiot etc. You can't mitigate stone chips though...

Who said I had stone chips?
I quoted 400 as someone said 1000 and it's always good to post a picture of the car.

I presumptuously assumed you didn't get your bumper resprayed for no reason.
And I was who said £1000 - for a front end respray. Not just a bumper. Wings, full bonnet, bumper, splitters, wing mirrors etc.
