Yeah mine sounds the same, slightly higher pedal and it's the last inch or so that is slow to return.
Tell me more about the return pipe recall please? Was that only for certain years? And it's a wider/stronger pipe is it?

Would be interested to hear if anyone using a Sachs (or similar) clutch and single mass flywheel is still experiencing the problems.

From browsing other forums it looks like many owners have given up their quest for the holy grail and went for an aftermarket clutch, flywheel, etc. to solve the problem.

Basically an uprated pipe, larger diameter I think. Most should have been swapped out by now if they were causing problems.

My one was changed out by Audi Perth when I started having issues with the sticky clutch.

To be fair, with 92,000 miles on the clock at the time it was probably due a new clutch and flywheel anyway.

Of all the aftermarket clutches, I think only the JHM one uses a different pressure plate to the OEM ones.

There seemed to be some thought that it could be the pressure plate causing the issues so that might be the one to try.

On a stock car I think I would stick with a dual mass flywheel to avoid chatter and maintain driveabilty.

Half the fun of the V8 is driving it at low revs in a high gear just to listen to the deep burble :-)

Car looks sweet.

Kind of funny you've gone to an Rs4 as in sure when we spoke at the last meet you were going on about your S4 being faster, guess you saw the light :)

You fairly don't hang out modding it.

I'll need to get my finger out and mod my car.

Catch you at the meet.

Off topic I know, but Hyper, are there pictures of your car on the forum? Looking at your avatar, you seem to have one of the best coloured RS4's . :biggrin3:

Haha.. Fair comment but yeah I still stand by that.. Stock RS's are fair game to de-catted JHM'd S4's! ;)
I was after a modded RS which this one is with Stage 2 MRC so this is a good bump in power again and was worth moving to.
Braking and handling is far superior though, I was never getting that with the S. And now it's on coilovers the stance is exactly what I wanted.
See you on the 9th.. :)

I might as well keep adding to this as some kind of mod/progress thread.

I've done a few more bits and pieces the last few weeks, all cosmetic and a couple of minor repairs which are still proving difficult to solve..

Had the car into local indy to look at starter problem, he replaced the relays but it's still doing the delayed start thing. It also threw a recently replaced alternator belt during a meet yesterday (RAC recovered) so it's back at the garage this week for investigating and starter motor replacement hopefully... :(

Thanks again Boom for doing brakes and Ellis for some quality pics.

Anyway, some pics..

Lowered the front another 10mm as I wasn't happy with it, it's now sitting how I want it.

New front pads

Heat taped airbox, I know it's probably pointless but it's bling! ;)

Image

Also Forge intake pipe, more heat tape (going overboard now with the NASA vibe lol), Porsche coolant cap and black screen wash cap..

Image

Painted black rings Audi aluminium same as mirrors
Primer
Image

Aluminium and laquer

And lastly a nice contribution from my 3 year old daughter and a stone.. Grrrrr... I almost sold her after this..

I was going to be painting this whole section anyway as there's a couple of paint bubbles under the numberplate but still I could do without this sort of vandalism, especially by members of my own family lol

Cheers also to the contributors of all the build threads on here where I've pinched all these ideas from. Great stuff.. :)

Had a new starter motor fitted on Friday. It seems to have cured all the starting issues. What a difference, pushing the start button now is like firing a fekn missile!!

New addition to engine Bay, carbon hydro dipped right hand engine trim. Pretty close match to the rest of the carbon bits. Quite like it.
