RS4 'replica'... Hahaharrgh!!

Gave me a right chuckle at the lights yesterday. Pulled up to see a B7 A4 with poorly spaced RS4-style wheels, all badged up front and back with RS4 badges  , and some rather suspect-looking twin pipes that were kind of angled down but not so much it was a diesel, a very weird looking beast.

I don't know about you, but I'd feel a bit of a plonker driving around in that knowing the real thing could pull up alongside at any time. A knowing glance from your bucket seat is all that's required...

Don't be so up your own backside !!!! Not everyone can afford a RS4 . There's plenty of people out there who will glance over at you and think the same .

Why should he feel a plonker ? Just because your in a car that's better ????

Some people.

He should feel a plonker because it's a dirty diesel NOT an rs4
Make it into a nicely modded diesel, don't badge it up as an rs4!! Simples

Think you need to re-read the first post?

The OP said he'd feel a plonker driving a car like that, not the owner is a plonker for driving it. Chill...it's a bank holiday weekend

I've never understood this - buy a car, spunk a load of money to try and pass it off as something it's not. Why not just save that money and then buy the car you are trying to get your snotter to look like? I completely understand modding a car to make it different to everything else out there, but trying to turn it in to something it isn't is just lost on me.

Lol, that's funny. Yeah, the guys logic is lost on me too. A wolf in sheep's clothing is one thing but the other way round doesn't make sense.

I built a B5 RS4 replica of sorts but a a Saloon first road going car in the UK. I could not afford a real one and to be honest I'm not a Avant man anyway but I loved the look of those muscular arches and loved my 1.8T Quattro so I built my own and for a lot less than the real deal.

No badges on either car :biggrin3:

Bought me a German left hooker rolling shell and got to work.

And I love this conversion, which inspired me to build one on my B6 before I found my RS4

Yup, do what you want but don't badge it... imitation rather than forgery.

+1

Badges, if any, should always be truthful.
