Hi Forum,

Had my car for about 2 years, purchased from Audi Bath with warranty. Just before I got it, Audi Bath changed 2 DRS bits. 2 weeks after I got the car, the other 2 bits went - and were replaced by Audi Manchester.

This week, the dreaded knock has come from the front right (and corresponding weirdness from rear left) - so it's DRC time =(

I have 2 questions for the knowledge of the forum:

1 - My gut feeling says that the bits that have been replaced shouldn't fail after 2 years or 20k miles. Does anyone have any experience of arguing the toss with Audi franchises?

2 - Under the assumption that they tell me to bugger off, who is good for DRS in the north west? I'm quite loathe to take it back to Manchester, given the above..

Have a look at exactly when you had them in. Audi parts come with 2 year warranty i think.

If u don't get anywhere with the dealer, speak to Audi UK and don''t take no for an answer. I had a similar problem.

I understand Audi parts fitted by them have two year warranty, so if less than two you could be ok (assuming the fault is with the replacement parts). If just over two, then maybe some goodwill may kick in, but this is dependent on whether you have been a good customer, ie serviced the car with them at Audi, bought the car from them etc etc.

Well, just checked the records - turns out it's near 3 years since the work was done, so probably on a hiding to nothing with Audi.

Any suggestions for specialists on the north west? I see unit 20 near Chester - does the general RS246 population rate em?

Martin and Lee are great at Unit 20 and will look after you. You need to see what the problem parts are and therefore whether you feel it's cost effective to replace the failed parts or put a coilovers package on like the non adjustable Bilstein B14's, etc.
