With so many people outright removing the SAI I imagine there should be lots of working ones about for very little (MRC probably have a pile somewhere)

It's located on the drivers side for a RHD car, behind the aux rad.

Personally I'd get rid of it and have it mapped out. It's just a cold start thing for emissions.

Yep, get rid of it.
How much to replace it? Spend the money on a remap instead.

Audi want about £500 for the pump :audibash:

I would love to go to MRC and get rid of it, it would nearly cost me that much in petrol to go down & back

Not sure if there anyone up here that can do that sort of remap :(

There are some companies that will do mail order tunes with a cable you need to buy. JHM in the US for example has a good rep, I think 500 pounds would suffice. But they like you to have some exhaust mods before using their tune. At minimum no precats.

You could talk to Viper tuning in the UK, if all you're after is getting the SAI mapped out they might be able to give you a good deal. They also do remote tunes.

Thanks JCviggen for heads up

Just phoned MRC and they are going to send me up a pump for the price of the postage, now I can get rid of that light on the dash.

Think I will go down some this year and get a health check, carbon clean, stage 2 remap maybe some other little bits.

Thank You MRC

Sounds like a result.

In these cases you really need to use man maths. Makes no sense spending money on a stupid SAI, just use (more) money to improve the car :)

Secondary air intake problems = precat removal, exhaust, remap, filter and supercharger :biggrin3: using man maths.
