I'm looking for an Audi OEM jack and found 2 types on eBay for an A4, an alloy version with a white tip that might possibly be from a B5, and steel ones which look to have a metal tip.
I'm inclined to get the alloy version if it does the job, anybody else tried one of these

I had one of these for my old golf it was utter rubbish and unstable .
To add ive a Renault master van the jack on that fits perfect even has the ball fitting that fits perfect on the R's jacking point and will lift 3.5 tonne and it's nice and compact

For the Audi OEM jacks, the best jack I found was the one that was with the wife's A6, part number 4F0 011 031.
There's a pic on this ebay listing (ended unfortunately)

The photo doesn't show it very well but the top of the jack has a horizontal cylinder shape that fits into the plastic block on the jacking point.

I bought one a long while back from the main dealer. was not too bad about £25 IIRC.
I think it was a stock A4 jack (was discussed on here ?), but I have never tried it ! LOL

Why not buy a proper trolley jack, unless you are planning on putting it in your boot?

My intention is just as a boot jack, that's why I thought the alloy 1 might be preferable. I'll keep my eyes peeled for one on eBay, also for a space saver, I'll also have to check if the wheel bolts for the alloys can also be used with the spare, last car couldnt
