Rear Grill TPMS

Before I demolish the back of my car, should the rear grill just pop out with a bit of coaxing? or is there a technique to doing it so I don't snap anything?

I am replacing the TPMS antenna even though I have disabled it as it has not worked for a while, I would rather get it working again.

Thanks

If you mean the honey comp shaped diffuser in the rear bumper then I can tell you it is fixed and not removable from the rear bumper.

The rear honeycomb definitely pops off, and somewhere on the inter webs there is a DIY that walked me through the process.

If I could go back though, I wouldn't bother with getting the system up and running. Having to deal with sensors that crapped out on me has proven to be more irritating than checking the pressures, which you still have to do anyway because the TPMS only warns you when there is a gross under inflation.

Interesting score of 1 - 1 on weather it can be done then!

CaptainLF - I know what you are saying, I have disabled it but I have found a new antenna very cheap so I thought I might as well put it in, I have tried searching for a 'how to' guide but am coming up with nothing, maybe not searching for the right thing?

When you say 'pops out' do you just wedge a screwdriver behind it and give it some welly? Sorry to sound a bit wet but I have snapped too many plastic bits in my time!

It definitely pops out. Put a rag over a screwdriver and wedge it out. Failing that you can push it from the back of it

Unlike I wrote earlier today the honey comb part does pop off separately, sorry for my incorrect info. The diffuser around it is fixed (matt black part of the bumper).

That's the way I did mine when I replaced the TPMS receiver.
