Power output

What's the most power that's been seen on a tuned rs4 without going down the supercharging road?
Mine is currently 338ps, would the sport cats or a cat delete pipe give much more?

338? Just getting it to run right should get you 40 or 50 horsepower...

Do you mean 438?

Fastest NA I've seen was with a ludicrously expensive and elaborate German ram airbox. They claimed 470-480ps and it was a very quick car.

You have an issue. Most likely a vacuum problem. Need to sort that out first and see what power you've got.

How long ago was the carbon clean?

With your mods and a recent carbon clean I'd expect about 440bhp. Maybe up to 450 with a cat delete. A sports cat won't make much difference if you already have the gutted precats as the standard cat is 200cell same as some sports cats (Milltek do a 100cell too though so slightly less restrictive). If the carbon clean was a year or more ago then I'd expect you to be around the 410 mark. But 338ps is well low (even with a vacuum problem). Do the valves on your milltek still work?

The most I've seen from a NA B7 is about the 450bhp mark which is pretty much the same mods you have but with no cats.

How do you check if your engine needs a carbon clean ?

Carbon clean was only done in June last year, yes the valves still work perfect on the milltek, it's pretty loud, if I opt for the delete pipe then I might need to wear earplugs

In that case, you might get another 10bhp from going catless but thats about the limit without charging.

I only asked about the valves as it might be an indication of vacuum issues but now we know you have 438ps then all is good.

You need to get your car on a dyno and get a power test done, if your figures are low then it's time for a carbon clean, unfortunately every b7 rs4 needs this done, poor design by Audi.
