Hi. Can anyone tell me if the headlight lenses are the same as a normal A4... As one of mine is cracked on the corner and I don't really want to fork out for a genuine RS4 headlight if the lens is the same as a normal A4...
Regards,
Chris

Should be, no difference in part number between an A/S/RS4 headlight

I was going to just purchase a second hand light and take the lens off.

That's the only option i could find also. Go new if you can! They transform the car

Doesn't it have to be a xenon lens? I thought the lenses were different between a halgoen and xenon headlight but I might be getting muddled with the internal reflectors.

The lenses are exactly the same. The best thing to do is to buy brand new halogen lamps and swap them over. A few of us have done that.

This was the case on my E46 M3 but i got standard halogen lenses and fitted them anyway and could see no difference at all to be honest

they looked ideal to the standard ones i took off which were also a Bosch part and they dispersed the light no differently to the standard lenses. Xenons tend to be pretty good for direction with the projectors anyway i have found, Its just retrofit kits that can be bad

Ok cool, sounds like another mini project then. Mine are not cracked but have a few stonechips so maybe it's time to give them some fresh lenses and black out the insides at the same time.

To clean the lenses up, you could have a clear / tinted headlight protection film fitted (not the cheap stuff off eBay). The film and glue is quite thick, so sinks nicely into the road rash on the lenses and makes them look fresh again... I have done a few now. Lamin-x is awesome.
