Fed up with 20's! Advice

I've got some almost new black bbs chr.
9x20 et 25
5 mm spacers to clear ceramics.
Extra long wheel bolts.
275 30 20 tyres (6mm +) tread
They rub on arches. Car is quite low but not slammed.
I could flog tyres and buy 265 30's - could rub and a pain in the arse swapping about.
I could flog wheels and tyres for ease and go 20" NK1 with 265's.
Or space the existing wheels out and stick to standard

I had 255/30R20 on my 9x20s and only rubbed on one corner sometimes, or all 4 if 4 up. Now not as low and with 245s so no rubbing at all.

So guys who run 265/275 must have std ride height.
I think I'm gonna sell the lot rather than try and sell tyres and mess about swapping rubber over.

Im on 265/30/20 Et29 20x9 with 10mm spacers (the OEM S5 alloys). I have the SS plus suspension and get a bit of rubbing on the back on speedbumps. I believe mine came with the wrong tyres for the car and I am about to change my tyres. I was told 255/30/20 or if im not mistaken 255/35/20. I get very slight rub occasionally so I will goto the 255s.

255 on a 9inch rim is what the car comes with from the factory.
And a 255/30/20 is exactly the same overall size as 255/35/19 so clearance will be exactly the same if ET was identical.
However, as you have ET 25 that is the same as a 4mm spacer comapred to OEM, add the 5mm spacer and 275 tyres you have and are effectively running a 9mm spacer with 10mm extra tyre width on top of that (like a 19mm spacer) so no wonder you get rubbing.
I run 265/30/20 with slammed suspension and occassionaly get a little rub (if at all) with ET26. Even if you runn 255s, with a effective offset of ET20 and lowered suspension you will probably get the odd rub, but obviosuly it will be much better than it is now.

MikeFish, If I have Et29 20x9 is it better to goto 255/30/20. I currently have 10mm spacers to fill the arches on the SS+. I am about to get new tyres in the next week or so. Would be a good time to get what should be the best fit for the car. I am happy to change or remove the spacers for what is the best fit for the car.

I run 20 x 10.5 with a 265/30/20 tyre. I have KW V3 Coilovers and adjust able top mounts. 20mm spacers on the front and 10 mm spacers on the back.
I had the inner lip on the front arches removed and smoothed. Drives like a dream!

Thanks for help.
So 255's will be coming soon, Unfortunately I need spacers to clear the caliper. MIGHT get away with 3mm.
I wouldn't say it was slammed but it's def lower than standard on KW's

I've the kW lowering springs and the rears are as low as they can go with et 29 wheels and 255/30/20 tyres. I've never heard them rub but the arch liner is starting to come away at the top where the wheel would touch. I'm not sure if it was like this before they were fitted or if the tyres have done it. Unfortunately there's no lip on the rear for them to sit in like the fronts.

With 255/30/20 on 20x9 ET29 rims you will have identical clearance to the standard 19" wheels & tyres. A lot of people have said they have no issues with OEM wheels tyres with SS+ and 10mm spacers on the front, some people say 8mm is better on the front. I think it pretty much depends on which tyres as some brands have a more protruding sidewall than others.

Ah perfect thanks very much, that clears that up for me. Right tyre size purchase it is for me then. I never had any rubbing before on the 19s with the 10mm spacers with GY.. thanks
