Sprint blue, B5 perches fitted.

Hi guys, just a quick pic how the RS4 sits lowered on H&R springs and B5 perches. Also got 12mm rear spacers and 10mm front spacers with 235/40 tyres, rear seems to sit a little bit high so need to check if the springs are sat on the rubber mounts correct always thought the rear sat really low.

Got no pictures of the fitting process but the B5 perches are a straight fit and very simple after the stupid pinch bolts.

Seems to handle even better and when I get some decent tyres in 255 will be perfect, just not sure if to go the black optics route or keep the silver detail.

Thanks :nogarors4:

Looks nice although it does seem to be leaning forward a bit, which makes a change from every other one that seems to lean back.

Black optics FTW.

LOL @ hiding your number plate!

Ps why do you have 235/40 tyres? Was it to get enough clearance for the 12/10 mm spacers?

Yer from pics I have seen should sit all level will have another look this weekend, not sure if I got it fully correct on the rear rubber mounts. No just tyres already on it is it 235/45? Standard audi size.

The tyres are hankook evo did okay around the Nurburg the other weekend but getting low so will swap to some 255 next.

Part number: 8D0412103B
Known as: N/STK Plate
Fitted on: 2000 A4 Quattro

Anyone interested so simple to fit tap off the old plate new one fits exactly the same no modding or fixing required. Just put the flat part to the engine wall curved part to the wheel.

Looks great mate. As much as I love black optics I think it suits the Alu trim a lot.

Standard size is 255/35/19. You've lost 20mm width with 235s.

It really doesn't sit right at all imo... Mine sat lower on the back as standard (SS+) and i seriously hope the 235 tyre width was a typo lol...

I had 275.30.19 on my old b7 with 8mm front and 10mm rear spacers
With the kw coilovers for me it's the perfect set up

Now I have an issue with this mod. I was going to do it myself and purchased the platforms. I took it round to a guy I have used for years and knows his stuff (ex F1 stock car champion) and he said it was downright dangerous.

The problem is the perches have a different radius that the B7 ones. B7's have a right angle and the B5's a rounder radius.

Although there is a locator grove in the collar, there is a possibility that with heavy compression, it's possible the strut could punch through the platform. Take a look for yourself, I wouldn't go near it.

Sorry my mistake thinking of my evo tyres, they are 255/35 no rubbing at all perfect fit

Oh right is that true? Does he have test results, documented evidence or a stress result to back this "theory" up. It's an extremely common mod in America with no stories of popping struts, part is off similar Audi of weight and size, having compared them together the new plate is thicker and better support where it sits on the collar. Can not see this being possible unless my car drops of a three storey house at which point it would be destroyed anyway.

Will be checking the rear, I did take this straight after fitting so maybe need to settle locked away ATM so haven't seen it since done.

Yer think I will be keeping the blue and silver theme

Doubt it, probably just being careful. Did you get test results and documented evidence before fitting them? :)

Nice come back but I would have to agree the Yanks have been doing this mod for years and not one horror story as of yet and they do the mod on the B6 & B7 A4's with zero issues other than not putting them on incorrectly.
