A few people commented on this tonight. Madness, slightly love the principle of it though.

Zero feedback. Dodgy if you ask me

Feedback is not an issue as you would not buy without seeing and picking it up in person.

The point here is its appears to be an R8/RS4 engine with a 4.7 displacement and a turbo to boot.

I'd always understood that there wasn't sufficient spacing between the cylinders to bore out much above 4.2 certainly not to go as far as 4.7, so that leaves increasing the stroke...

As for increasing the stroke to get extra capacity the piston velocities are already very high so it's likely that special pistons would be needed as well as the custom crankshaft. I suppose it would be possible but the cost would likely be astronomical and at £13,500 the seller would likely me making a significant loss.

Looking at the Dyno plot - rev limit at 6500 rpm so much lower piston speed. As such you could reduce the piston con rod length. This would increase displacement and also reduce compression ratio which you'd need to run those turbos.
I'm not convinced it's a fsi v8 though as I can't see any high pressure fuel pumps. It's probably just using the red rocker covers. The intake manifold is also from an s4 v8 I think.

They say it's a R8 lump

Could it be an R8 block married to non-FSI B6/B7 S4 heads?

Definitely not R8 or RS4 heads, the oil filler is in the wrong place and there's no high pressure injectors - so more likely to be 5-valve indirect injection heads.

Plus is that chains/belts on the front of the engine under the silver/white covers? Which would throw doubt on it being an R8 block.

Certainly looks like a hybrid engine of some sort to me.

Thats a C5 RS6 engine! The timing belts are at the front.... All V8 engines B7 on are chain driven and the chains are at the back of the engine.

Also it says its stroked not bored :beerchug:

that 0-125 vid was insane. Think it sailed past 60 in about 2.5/3 secs.

The C5 engine would rrequire the front to be extended so it can't be a C5.
