Why don't you just price up a set of coilovers on tinterweb and ask a mechanic how much they'll charge to fit?! Simples!

Price up some new DRC shocks and get
http://www.unit20.org/ to quote fitting/pressurising it all. Might work out cheaper and be worth more come re-sale time.

No idea but using the below and converting from USD to GBP, the cost of shocks are £565.

Yeah I agree to replace the shocks and see how it goes. The same problem on my car after I bought it and took it to the stealer to fit, top up the fluid and check the pressure for the rear set. The parts are not expensive, just the labour rate is shockingly high.
Besides, that's one of the special point in having the RS4 and making it a classic of the era with the sophisticated engineering. Keep it special !

Can't work that out myself.

Changed the 2 front discs today With a qualified Merc tech, checked shocks as well, he is of the opinion that the shocks are good and don't need replacing. Only booked the car in for an oil/filter service and Audi gave me a list of what they would recommend me to get done, another thing they wanted to charge me for was a cat, because the webbing around it was STARTING to fray, they even wanted over £2,500.00 for that. TBH I'm not really happy with S,G,SMITH OF BLACKFEN.

AMD in Essex supplied and fitted them - a real quality upgrade to the car including a great lowered stance. I am planning on complimenting the suspension with H&R ARB's pre the SPA trip this year.
I am running MRC fast road settings for the setup - the car is perfect on the road and not trashy at all.
