Loving this Milltek malarkey

So, it's been on for a good two weeks now and although I don't drive my car every day, in this weather I have been using it a lot.

Every time I have driven it (and I'm not lying when I say that) I get hollered.

Memorable shouts so far have been - 'that sounds amazing', 'give it a blip', 'my God that sounds like death', 'give it some boots'. Last night I had a guy in a lovely new 640 m sport derv, pull up next to me and say 'that sounds like 100k's worth of noise'. And today I had 'T wat it one' - which I took to be a positive comment!!

I must say it sounds meaty inside, but because they're so well insulated it's hard to get the real concerto in the cabin.

I have to tell you all now, £500 for a non rez, valved Milltek has been one of the best purchases for a car I've ever made, love it :bigblink:

crazy really the attention the car gets still, i am sure it is the noise that is the reason for it, love seeing people turn around to see what is coming :) i was driving through Adaneu nr the ring the other week and a whole crowd cheered as i went past down a narrow road with the sound echoing off the buildings :)

Damn right Rick, gutting the pre-cats must also add to the orchestra.

Stainless downpipes and decats must sound immense. Like a meaty Cobra with that tinny sound on tick over. Although that lovely rough idle you get with a carb'd big V8 can't be something you can match with a modern V8.

I knew you wouldn't be disappointed James and you have the added benefit of not p*ssing your neighbours off due to the valves. Absolute steal at that price plus your OEM one. Let's not forget your car also has the carbon airbox which sounded immense with the stock zorst. Clearly after posting this up, you're going to have to make a tunnel video or something to share the noise at least. :beerchug:

It does make a good noise doesn't it :)
It's my excuse for the massive drop in fuel economy :D

If you don't already, you have simply got to heel n toe. The quick response in sport mode + silky manual gearbox + non res miltek makes a stunning noise.
I've had somebody come up to me at a petrol station and say they never knew they made sequential boxes for the b7 - all those years of practise were worth it! :D

I don't know about that, my old tubi and non res centre section with no pre cats didn't sound too far off my old small block chevy 350 with 4 barrel holley carbs at tick over. Not quite as rough or lumpy but close.

Easy enough to replicate - map it badly and you can make it lumpy ;)
