Emission warning light

While on a run tonight the emission control warning light has come on, anyone know the usual cause for this. I've ordered Vagcom so will check codes early next week, but is there any "common" issues?

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

You could surmise till the cows come home, wait for the VCD kit or if you can touch base with a member locally?

Where about's are you?

Good luck

Chorley in Lancashire. Yeah should be here Monday. It's had a slight mis while idling for a while. So I suspect a coilpack.

Monday spot on, it will be the best bit of kit you have ever owned

Mines just had an O2 sensor changed which I found using VCD's, running sweet now

Good luck and report back on your findings

Mine came on last year and turned out to be a lambda sensor. I'm also from chorley lancashire and I've only ever seen one other b7 it was a Daytona grey saloon.

+1

There are literally dozens of reasons for the light to come on, without VCDS to see the actual fault codes you'll be P155ing in the wind trying to guess what the cause is.

Bank 2 is the passenger side, stealers would have charged me about £255 with vat but was covered on my warranty.

Forgot to say, the sensor is £90 at the stealers, found on EBay for about £53 when I was looking, was going to change myself but could not get mine out, stealers used heat, not so bad on a ramp, but with SS+ could not get it high enough pc the ground
