ever feel complacent?

I don't know if anyone else who uses their's as a daily driver feels the same, but just sometimes, I forget quite what a beast the B7 is and grumble to myself about fuel etc.etc.....

Then, thanks to the traffic demons on the M5 and M6 today, I ended up driving along the Bridgenorth road and my faith is completely restored. 10+ miles of bliss between 4000 and 7500 rpm and some of the best driving fun I've had. What a way to be reminded.

I get complacent ... Then I get a passenger and they freak out and I realise I drive too briskly on my back road to and from work

+1 here - use mine all the time and a lot of the time during pretty boring drives. booking a trip to the Ring for next mth to get the fire back :)

I only drive my car about once a week these days and every time I get in the car I want to smack myself for not driving it more. It truly is an amazing car in every way

Mines a daily.
I do hate putting miles on it though! Weird how I love driving it but regret simply because of the milage.
So I'm away for a few days to wales soon and thinking of taking the B5 cos that's already a high miler... But B7 is WAY nicer car to drive and is new - but it's another 500miles on the thing.

I've done 3k in 2 months.
Gonna be worth f all when I've done with it!

Not bored yet.

I use mine as daily drive and in a way its a pity because it doesn't really feel fast anymore. Today one of my company's new employees ask for a lift and I stepped a bit on it..he was completely sold! That kind of gives a good feeling.

Also driving a rental car for a week helps in appreciating my RS again:)

How many miles does it have now? I've done 30k in mine in the past 20mths of ownership. Will be ticking over 100k within the next couple of months I reckon - just booked another euro trip today, might as well make the most of it eh! :-)

some fuel bill

I find it hard to drive cars that depricate / cost so much when you clock the miles. Tommroow I need to drive to London yet I know I will use my old land rover to do it because it wont matter if it gets dirty in the yard which it will with dust, but it keeps the miles of the car :(

I just drive mine into Europe whenever I can.

Never sell - just experience the car full on - I love it.

Never - I drive a freekin Smart Car to the office every day.

The RS is quite simply something to cherish and boy is that ever a worthy definition.

That's the conundrum isn't it? It is something to cherish, but the best way to do that is every day I reckon. Yet every day driving you can get too used to it to appreciate.

My ethos is drive it every day and make sure to take routes that have a little interest in them. Miles will come on fast (20k in a year for me), but they are almost all good fun.

I'm off to Le Mans tomorrow, South of France in August for family holiday and then a bit of an epic for work to Nuremburg in September. Can't wait for all of them

Just ticked over 62k. Not sure what other mileages are on charged cars though - I guess this is probably up there - still feels very strong and tight.
My B5 is on 143k, new cams, turbos, brakes etc. I'd expect that to ease into 200k with little trouble.
