I think the unit is called RNS-E. Does any one know how easy it is to remove a RNS-E from the car?
I used some rubberised workshop gloves!Pie wrote:If you're using the eBay keys, wrap a layer or two of electrical insulating tape around the finger holes - as they're b45tard sharp and will slice up your fingers. I learnt the hard way!

I would've thought that this is the problem too. I activated the feature with VCDS on my car and would probably forget to disable it should I ever sell the car.neilparf wrote:+1 probably!MikeFish wrote:some clutz might have reactivated the disable when it was in for a service.
If after checking you find that the eject button is enabled then once you've removed the RNS-E from the dash you only need to remove the top cover to gain access to9 the DVD drive, then you can slide the DVD out of the slot. I had this happen to me a few years ago and it only took about 5 minutes to open up the RNS-E, slide the DVD out and refit the top cover.Surrey Sam wrote:I would've thought that this is the problem too.
