DT article on B7 RS4 bucket seat thefts

I'm sure someone will already have posted this but I didn't have time to trawl through the topics to check...

Nothing like a bit of Wednesday afternoon scare-mongering! :?

If it's a bad as the article describes, should we, indeed Audi, be doing something about tagging the seats?

Not really scaremongering - I have read countless stories across forums about this happening to people. Makes you wonder why the insurance companies will write a car off for it though, shame that your PNJ will be cat D as a result and kill it's resale value (should you want to sell it later)

I would bargain with them for a set of ebay second hand jobbies @3k or something and save the write off...has to be in everyone's interest. (although by buying off ebay etc you are just continuing the likelihood of someone esle getting stung)

This, in especially South London is a problem.

£3K on the open market/ebay is enough motivation for a any SCUMBAG to have a good go. Weld the seats in place, tag them, (https://smartwater.tv/Pages/GetAQuote.aspx?cat=personal) and just be really choosy where you park, if you can.

Yes, 2,000 cars produced but even worse is the fact, out of that number less are with the buckets as some have the comfort option :(

I love some of the smug comments at the bottom about buying premium cars etc. All posted by people who make a fcuking carrot last a week for EVERY meal...

Indeed - it's bad enough it's happening, but now the SCUMBAG underworld who didn't know this was going on and the worth of x2 RS4 seats, certainly know now... however, you do have to be able to read (the article) to understand the virtues of stealing these seats :bash:

A garage and two cars parked in front of the garage doors usually helps.

You'd be mad leaving one out at night on the street in my opinion.

Mines garaged all the time anyway but this thread makes me glad I've got the comfort seats. Well almost.

South London in particular seems to be popular for this most likely because parts of it are affluent and quieter than central London.

And S3 buckets

And TT buckets

I'm pretty sure B8 SuperSport seats will also fit.

Loads on ebay.de.

No need to write off a car

Hang them high !
The law should change, like speed cameras, you're guilty immediately but if you attempt to steel, unless caught red handed by the plod then you're ok. I tripped over my shoe laces officer, my arse, the copper should have thrown the tosser in the back of a meat wagon and beat the sh1t out of him like in the 80's and then said do your laces up sunshine.

My car which I just bought is a CAT D write off due to the front seats, steering wheel and gear knob being stolen while the car was in a garage the car was written off.

There was another local to me had the same thing smashed the drivers door window open and they took the seats out through there.

my car had the alcantara option and I remember a lttle while ago someone selling a gear knob and steering wheel of the same spec, Bet I know what car that came from.
