New Discs and Pads

So on my last trip to the garage they recommended a new set of Front Discs and Pads.
They were looking north of €1250 (£1050) for the lot.
Now I am going to go to a well respected independent here instead, I have sourced the discs from Belfast Audi for £566 (About £180 cheaper than my local stealer)
However the pads are nearly £300 from the Belfast crowd.
Now I've been reading up a bit and also noticed that a member on here sells the Fedoro Premier pads for £75 - Which seems like a great price.
Also my independent mechanic recommended Brembo pads @ £95
Then you have the EBC Red/YellowStuff @ £184/197
Just wondering really what people on here use, and any recommendations?
Just to note all my use is road, no track......for now....

Everyone's got their favourites. I personally wouldn't skimp on cheap pads. If you want the OEM ones I think there was a thread on here not too long ago talking about them being for sale closer to £250. Search is your friend.

I Have just bought Tarox G88 discs all round which are 2 piece bell and rotor both front and rear. Road race pads all round, uprated brake hoses and road race fluid.
They have an excellent guarantee with them against warping and cracking ( which the Audi discs did on my car).
Really helpful knowledgable sales manager.
all prices + vat
Front disc set £520
Front pad set £200
All being fitted tomorrow. I will update you on my opinion once bedded in.

Another Irish RS4 to add to the fold?
I also went Tarox disks, but drilled to look more OEM with some pads (Yellow Stuff) fitted and the specialists said that these were, in their opinion, much better than OEM. They commented on the better designed ventilation over OEM.
Also got them from Glen in Revolution, check out the old thread in the group buy section.

The best place to get any Tarox product will be direct from Tarox.
Ask for Nicholas Counsell 01706 222872. I said that I would post on the forum. I got 5% discount because I asked.
I have now bedded in the G88 pictured above and can honestly say they knock spots off oem, this might also be due to everything else being changed though.

I might have misread your post, but I better clarify: the pads in the ebay sale are not genuine Audi pads; are not 'OEM' Audi. They may well be 'genuine Pagid', but don't let that fool you: they are considerably worse pads than the more expensive OEMs.
That ebay link is from Philip Walker - a very nice fella, loves his cars and is a good chat on the phone. I bought OEM front discs from him and was very happy with the service.
I have also tried those pads - they barely survived the bedding in process. I swapped them for a set of OEMs only a week or two later and the tech at Revolution said they were in a very poor state. Wish I'd taken photographs. I would never put them on my car again. No chance of that anyway now anyway as I'm on ceramics.
As S4Player explained earlier in the thread, they are NOT the same, or even close to, the OEM pads. For me it was seventy five quid down the drain but a lesson learned.
My experience of pads of the iron discs only extends as far as the OEM and the £75/85 Pagids, so I can't comment on other after market pads. There's a quite a few good threads on here with well informed comments on pads if you fancy trying something else next time.

Sooner or later I have to replace my dics & pads so I ask: Any experience of Tarox discs and EBC YellowStuff pads? How about Brembo pads?
