A couple of pics and a 'whats going on here?' question

Well finally got round to cleaning the car today with work/weather/kids and hangovers all taking my time up lately.
Had the car for about 2 months now and its been great, still got my S4 and the wifes S3 as daily drivers but the RS is just too much fun to leave on the drive.
Apologies for the crappy iphone pics but the wife has 'tidied away' the camera charger.
When cleaning i noticed the plastic trim at the bottom of the door was coming away slightly, just a mil or so but now I've noticed it it will bug me. not really clear from my photo but give you an idea of where. Anyone seen this happen before, doesn't push in easily so not loose as far as i can tell.
Next up is a wheel refurb, cant make my mind up about black or stick with silver. Hmm.... got a spare alloy might get it done in black to see how it looks.
cheers

That'll be water getting in between the trim and the aluminium backing, a reasonably common fault. It looks to be quite minor so you may get away with removing the trim, glueing and clamping it before it gets any worse.

Ok that doesn't sound good, is there a 'how to' thread for that one?
Cheers

Are the doors Aluminium or pressed steel ?
I'm sure I remember reading a post about someone removing the 'lumpy' strip to find there was rust behind it and that's what was causing the misform ?

Steel doors as far as I know. Think the alu is a backing for the trim strip?

May be worth checking it's not rust behind then
My old B7 had a couple of rust patches coming and the cars are at that age
Fwiw, they have a 12yr anti corrosion warranty, so if it's rust you should be able to get the stealer to fix it

Doors are plastic? Mine are (or at least I think they are)
Oh, sort out the bumper gap

Plastic doors? The trim feels plastic I wouldn't of thought the whole door is.
Yes, I'll look into the bumper gap. Not had time to do anything of late, I'll add it to my job list.

I covered the innder and outer skins on mine with sound deadening and can't say I noticed them being plastic. Pretty sure they were metal but maybe I just didn't pay enough attention.

And what a rare colour car you have!

Just been out to car - the skin definitely sounds like plastic when tapped.
You can press it and it flexes like plastic.

That looks like metal to me, thought about why more car panels are made of plastic, no rust. Must be something to do with strength for fixings and welding etc.
I believe green is pretty rare mike, one of the reasons it stood out for me.
I'm away to try and get a magnet to test my door.
