You are going to all hate me, but based on my previous post Im seriously considering this.....

Hopefully, if I part x my car or even sell in privately I may only need to dish out an additional 3-5k

Descisions....descisions :bash:

I know Chris Harris wasn't really a fan... if that's something you'd be worried about? A V10 is a V10 though, and 500bhp is hard to argue with.

I would be expecting money my way if swapping for an M5, though I guess it's a newer car and being an estate adds to its price too?

interesting to hear that...Ultimately even though my avant is mint, it does have 70,000 miles on the clock so I cant expect more than 20k for that

I was looking at these a few months ago. Someone on the forums was selling for silly money.

Defo no way you should be expecting money your way, especially for a touring. I'd also say it's worth doing some research. Actually, doing a lot of research because they're a tech fest and plenty to go wrong with E60/61s. That being said most of the early problems were sorted post FL so make sure if the budget stretches you pick up one of them. Brutal car

Make sure you get a good warranty with it as they are even more expensive than the B7 to fix.

I really like the M5 but the lack of manual gearbox (in the U.K. at least) rules it out.

Not sure about the white but if you like it that is all that matters.

By all accounts, a great car:

This EVO video shows the Avant and Touring address a few corners:

Mind you, on your, ahem, private road, the M5 can do this...

The agony of choice. Good luck...!

A mate of mine had an 07 one of these beasts a year or so ago - after several bits fell off / melted / generally stopped working and the associated eye watering repair bills he moved it on after 6 months. He was pretty fed up with 12 mpg as well.

He was however, a fan of the 'M' button and the V10.

RS6 has as many cylinders and litres but a pair of turbos too, but then it's a fair but more money.

Tough call.

when I had my last beemer one of the guys with an M3 I knew off that forum, was lent a M6 whilst his was in for a service.
That day he had a couple of hundred miles to drive across some nice roads to visit his customers

He did say whilst he drove it enthusiastically it was a bit of a shock to fill it up AGAIN after 105 miles with 50 litres (under 10MPG). pretty sure he said it had drunk nearly 100 litres in just over 220 miles by the time he handed it back.

Can't see an M5Touring being much different if driven in the same manner..... he finally swapped for an E63AMG
