Stolen car - the DVLA were probably complicit

Post by nihc » Fri Sep 20, 2013 12:33 am

I don't think people realise what a scandle this is.
Hundreds of companies have easy access to keeper's personal details and the scrutiny of such companies is remarkably limited.
All of the old clamping companies, private parking companies and anyone who works for them have access to any keeper details.
I could easily set up a scam parking company and be able to get keeper details for any reg plate that I see while out and about.
Nice RS4 there, I'll get the keeper details later and pay them a visit.

If you car is stolen I would ask the DVLA who they have given your details to recently. Of course, they won't tell you.

It's a disgrace.

I only stumbled upon this whole scandle after my details were given, unlawfully, to a scam parking outfit. I've done a lot of research on the issue since and it's unbelievable.
