NOOB cabriolet owner, can I come in?

Post by xlr8 » Mon Sep 16, 2013 6:12 pm

Hi all,

Thought I'd say hello having been a long time lurker and finally joining the list of owners, all be it with a cabriolet so not a 'proper' RS!! Can I come in or do cabrio owners have to go somewhere else??

I left a deposit on my car at an Audi dealer six weeks ago and have finally got it after waiting a lifetime for the dreaded number plate transfer! Weird thing, I went to see the car purely to use as a comparison for looking at others, as I didn't like the sound of it in the description. Wrong colour, wrong seats, wrong wheels etc!! But when I stood in front of it, I'd bought it in the first three seconds! It was miles ahead of anything I had seen, and should be a lesson to anyone looking for a used car. Don't discount anything!

Anyway, I am the proud NOOB owner of a Daytona grey cab with black optic's, no buckets, but with a new set of genuine rotor's and under 15,000 miles!! If the previous owner is on here, I take my hat off to you sir! The car is perfect!

So having bought it on condition and mileage, imagine my surprise on getting it home to find it has a tracker, one of those roof gizmo's that opens the hood from the Audi remote, and a non res valved Milltek! All of which Audi never mentioned, and I didn't notice. Don't ask me how I didn't notice the Milltek, think I just assumed an Audi dealer wouldn't sell a non standard car, and never pressed the sport button on the test drive! I'm wondering what else it has now!!

The only problem, I've had it just over a week and haven't had a chance to use it! Are they fun to drive??!! :-) Up to this point however, I'm in Lurve!!

Paul

FON - from another cabriolet owner. I'd love a roof that opens from the remote. Must save some money up

FON and welcome. We need more hairdressers on here!

What size are those wheels, they look too small for 20s? Too much rubber, not enough metal unless my eyes are fooling me.

The guys at work have already got me a pair of electric hair trimmers to keep in the glovebox!

Yep, you're correct sir, 19's with a set of standard size Michelins.

Thank you, it is. Its an absolute tribute to its former keeper. I haven't found a mark on it. Its covered in that armour guard stuff (transparent wrap) Front of the bonnet, front bumper, leading edges of the wheel arches, top of the rear bumper and even the backs of the mirrors! If I could keep it in my bedroom, I would!

I'm starting to sound ghey already!!
