No issues, with mine. Fitted it myself last November. I can check paperwork tomorrow for service and maybe MRC paperwork to see how many miles I've done since then.

No was lazy, picked the red carbon weave one up from Argon then popped down to Revolution to have it fitted.

the carbon was bit was a bit of banter for another thread just in case people got confused of whats what lol don't worry they only did a carbon one

get a few more peoples input before i spill why i ask but it could just be luck of the draw and there is nothing wrong with the item by any means if you are considering buying one so dont worry and buy ahead you will not regret it :FIREdevil:

I don't ave one but the only issue I do remember reading is like all oiled filter elements its easy to overdo it and get oil dropping off onto the MAF.

BINGO! exactly why im asking! i have killed 2 MAF sensors now because of this! I have made pipercross aware of the problem and they are making a dry 3 stage filter to replace the oiled filter. Today i have stripped down the airbox and cleaned it all so its now oil less and gave my new MAF sensor a good blast of cleaner and its working again. Took it for a good run and it has sorted the problem for now! So im guessing im not the only person this has happened to?

Im now guessing with a good clean my original MAF will be ok and the new one wasn't needed as first thought.

As a matter of interest then Ben are you just getting a MAF fault indictation or other syptoms too. Just to be clear on what faults can occur and what to keep an eye out for?

a very obvious miss fire and car sounding like its limiting at 5krpm.

poor idle if it idles at all! the second time my car just kept stalling.

engine management light and traction light will come on permanent but traction light appears first.

as said the second time on the latest MAF on the way to Edition on sunday was the worst as the car was undrivable. then the first time i didn't even know i just got the lights and the car performed faultless until i got home as i was in Switzerland at the time.

easiest way to cure it to get you to your destination is to disconnect the MAF in the engine bay and it will run from stored parameters but i wouldn't suggest driving like a hoonigan like this and use it purely as a get home feature.

So the dry filter is the way to go...I presume if you run a standard air box set up you don't get this problem from oiled filters as the filter is that much further away from the maf?..

Thanks for this Ben. I've only done around 1000 miles since fitting mine and no issues, however today as I left AmD and got on to M25 the EPC light came on. Car will only rev to just over 6k and feels sluggish. Got home and after I re started the car both EPC & Emission control light come on. I'm guessing this could be down to some further tweaking needed with the map that AmD have just done, but could it also be a MAF issue. Not had any issues with the CF air box prior to this? I'm taking the car back to AmD on Thursday so it can be rectified and will post the outcome of the problem

They are just aesthetically pleasing to the eye... No real gains and by the sounds of things running problems....£500 odd quid.... No thanks...
