Imola Avant

Post by kidyamlo » Sat Jun 29, 2013 10:50 am

What do you guys think of this? I had a B5 in Imola and it looked great (IMO - but I like yellow; have Phantom at the moment). I reckon they'd shift this thing quicker if they had the wheels and mirrors done in black. And dropped the price by a grand. And since when was Imola "Audi exclusive" - I'm fairly sure that's BS.

It wasn't exclusive for the B7, was a standard pallete colour.

Buy it cheap as you will get raped on resale.

I dunno, I held out for my price for my Imola B5 and got what I wanted. But yes, at that price forget it unless it is *genuinely* mint. I have recently learned that "umarked" almost automatically means the opposite from any dealer.

Light Silver* (5B5B) 2 (0.1%)
Condor Gray* (5Q5Q) 1 (0.1%)
Unknown 5 (0.3%)
* Audi Exclusive Color

59 yellow, only 2 w/o sunroof

I'm not worried about resale, it's more dependent on condition and mileage than color
cars are a depreciating, consumable, commodity, not an investment...if I get 20 oe 22% back after 5 years doesn't matter that much
color is a preference and someone will want it, it's not like years ago, put it on the internet and you have national exposure

I've been tracking them and they go for about the same as any other color on ebay or autotrader
if you like it, make your best deal and go for it....it's a great color and looks much better in person (than pics) and especially good in low light conditions

I didn't pick the color, it just happned to be yellow
my priorities
mileage
warranty
previous owner (Audi of America)
wanted to buy from a dealer
no sunroof
price
and it turned out to be yellow, color was not a priority

bought it 4.5 years ago, 45k$, 7k miles, 2.5 years/50k miles of factory warranty and 2/100k CPO'ed

friends told my wife they thought they saw me driving it but said it couldn't be me, "Arthur would never drive a yellow car", lol
it's like a big toy

Dream world.

In the UK, the only people that want Imola yellow are me and gangsta's from Bradford!

how do I know? As I've owned and sold Imola B7 and Imola RS 5.

Imola yellow is a very marmite colour - I love it though.

Was my second choice after sprint blue
Current: MK7 Golf R, Lapiz Blue 5 dr
Gone and missed: 2006 Sprint Blue B7 RS4 Avant. Non res valved Milly.
Gone: B6 S4. Noggy BLue. AMD Stage 3 (Milteck Res, Sports Cats, AMD Chip, Piper Cross Air Filter) ECS Drilled/Slotted Rotors, EBC Red Stuff Pads.

I think it's ace but definitely overpriced (colour has far more bearing on residual price in UK than US) and NEEDS black wheels. It just does. At least then it will actually look like a jar of Marmite ;)

Yellow does not photograph very well. It also has to be the *right* shade of yellow, like this, and on the right car (like this) :)

one reason I like the color is it is non-metallic
what other colors were non-metallic? red?

Not Imola, but speaking of optimistic (on crack?) pricing...

Crikey, that's a lot of money for that car
In terms of the imola car, then I'd say 20-21k is a bit more realistic pricing for it
Like's been said above, it's a marmite colour and there'll be a limited market for its appeal
