Okey dokey
Got bored whilst waiting for phone to be fixed so had a look at Portsmouth audi.
Firstly, disclaimers - this is just my opinion and my not be all the facts. I spent about 30-45 minutes there and never started or drove the cars. Purely a close look at the obvious.
With that out of the way...
They have 3 there at the moment
£19,900 06 *silver* Avant.
Note - just to be double sure, this is nothing like Daytona grey.
Summary - it's had a hard 80k miles.
Bumper gap is more than I would like. Seen worse but it's not "tight".
The drivers bolster is shot to hell. I've not seen one quite this bad. No amount of product will reverse it as it's cracked and worn through the outer coating (flaking). It would need to be recovered to be put back together.
It's got a few stone chips (which you'd expect at 80k) however they have been attacked by a bad diy mismatched stone chip repair kit. Honestly, the ones that haven't been "fixed" look better. at 80k miles you expect some wear n tear but the repairs are bad. It's not one or two either - there's about 3-5 on the N/S wing alone. Blob after blob of paint that's doesn't look the right shade.
N/S front door has a couple scratches about 1/2" long. Deep enough to be a professional repair (no t-cutting).
N/S front door sill has a massive scratch - about 4" long.
It has the manual blinds, heated seats, nav and sunroof which are pros.
No phone kit, mount (cradle or in the armrest) and no Bluetooth.
Look like brand new continental tyres.
Piano black interior (looks odd to me)
FBSW and buckets - Sport button on the steering wheel rubbed almost clean. other buttons showing wear too.
Brakes showing wear with a lip forming.
All wheels refurbished.
No signs of DRC failure but always worth a decent look.
Taxed until July.
Full Audi service history.
Finally - I can't comment conclusively and this is purely an educated guess as it has chucked it down this morning but this was the only car showing fluid in the N/S front passenger aux rad duct. I couldn't tell if it was water or coolant (didn't want to pull the vent cover off with salesman behind me) but the rads do look consistent with the age and mileage of the car. I would strongly advise this being checked on any test drive.
Overall - it's had a hard life and it shows it. £20k "feels" a lot of cash but as with most things always room for movement.
£27k 2007 Daytona Avant
Much better all round (reflected in the price though!)
50k miles
Damage around the drivers side washer cover - looks like it may have been stuck and attacked with a screwdriver. trivial to sort just a bit annoying.
Bolster wear is consistent with age - creases and some wear (it's a 6 year old well used car after all) but no worse than mine. Some decent leather care products will sort it out I would think.
Buckets and MFSW
Carbon interior.
What look like almost new Ultratrac Sesstansa - plenty of life left.
refurb'd wheels.
brakes look relatively ok - no lip yet formed.
No auto wipers or lights
Paintwork in great condition considering age.
Bumper gap is perfect.
Aux rads look clear.
Drc no signs of leak.
Weird hose hanging loose in the N/S front aux rad vent. If I had to guess it *looks* like the vac line to the rear exhaust. I couldn't quite tell but it's that kind of size. I checked the other cars and mine and none of them had this visible. I'm sure it's a trivial fix but worth checking out esp at this price bracket.
Summary - by far the best car there but the most expensive. It'd be the one I would probably go for but this price is at the top end and a little premium.
£24k Sepang Blue Saloon. 07 55k miles.
BTW - I've never seen this colour in the metal and it looks stunning. Love it (even if you lose the stealth aspect of the rs4

)
Paintwork is reasonable - no obvious problems. Small dent under the drivers wing mirror but that's really pedantic.
Bumper gap is frankly laughable... I swear I could get my entire hand through the gap.
FBSW reasonable condition
Comfort seats in good condition.
No auto wipers/lights
Nav
Worn Pirellis - I'm guessing between 3-4mm. Noticeably more wear than the other two cars there.
Brakes looking like they are more work than the 27k car but not as bad as the 19k car.
Piano black interior
No sign of DRC leak.
Overall - nice car. I would be my choice if it wasn't for the lack of bucket seats and the auto wipers.
If they put new tyres on then maybe just maybe...
