So ive noticed a recent fault with the hot weather. My parking sensors haven't worked for a while now and were on my list of things to do. In the recent warm weather I have made a bizarre observation, when the suns out and the temperature is above 18 degrees the parking sensors work fine... but when the temperatures cold they don't work at all!!
Strange I know but does anyone have any fix solutions?
Thanks in advance

Re: Parking sensors only like warm weather!
Not a definate fix but may be water ingress to one of the plugs on the sensors. Mine were playing up recently, ordered a new sensor and now they are all working ok!

I have the same problem - a lot of the time none of mine work - but when they work they all work fine if that makes sense.
i.e just sometimes, start the car, press the button OR put it in reverse and nothing happens. later on they will start working. I can't say i've noticed its temperature related necessarily but that could possibly be it.
could a faulty sensor stop the whole system from activating ? I've had the car checked several times and no parking sensor faults were logged (so I was told)
Is there a main control unit for the parking sensors which could have become a bit tetchy and in need of replacing ? don't really want the hassle of replacing all the sensors in an effort to rule out the problem (as I think someone else ages ago had to do)
I asked the same question a while back but it would appear not to be a common problem...

Re: Parking sensors only like warm weather!
Parking sensors on the RS4 seem to last as long as chocolate in the sun.
I've had two replaced already and now getting the loud beep again.
It's in the garage now to find out which are playing up for replacement.
One faulty sensor will kill the whole system - one way to tell is they may a slight clicking sound when working.

Yeah they make a clicking noise when active. If 1 has a fainter click or none at all then it's on it's way out or dead. I always keep the pressure washer away from them as I killed a couple of them on an x5 I had.
