Nav plus questions
Nav plus questions
Hi all,
Firstly, I'm new here as just bought my avant 4 weeks ago and loving it! But it sure does keep me busy constantly trying to get it perfect!
So, I have 2 questions for you, which I've searched the Internet and this forum for hours that I can't find responses to...
1. When I start the car the radio comes on quite loud, regardless of the volume when I turned the car off previously. Is there a setting for this so I can turn it down for startup?
2. I have a Nokia ck-7w Bluetooth installed but there is no sound coming out of the speakers. I took the nav plus unit out and see the speaker wires (black and a red one) aren't connected, all other wires are connected into back of the unit. Any idea where these should go? From what I've read it could be the telephone in and out inputs but I can't find a picture of the back of the navi plus unit to figure out where these are...
Appreciate all your assistance!
Cheers

2. Check connector block C (green one) ...pins 6 and 12 should have wires in them if not then that's your problem if they are there they may be in the wrong way round ? Do you get the bong when bluetooth connects ? I had the same problem with mine, easily sorted
C connector wires
C1 = Black (mic in -)
C2 = Empty (RFSL)
C3 = Grey (Line out FL)
C4 = Black (Mic Out -)

Re: Nav plus questions
As for 1 it seems to be factory preset and there is no way to change it

Re: Nav plus questions
Hi Dal thanks for the response.
1. To your original response yes my radio stations can be placed in memory. To your latter response wow! Is this really a factory setting and does everyone just put up with having to turn the radio volume down every time the car is started? Seems crazy!
2. Thanks for the info, I'll pull the unit out again on Monday and have a look as per your advice. If these slots are free do you think I should feed the Nokia wires into them?
Thanks again

Re: Nav plus questions
Just re read your post again and you say re 2. I should have wires in them?? If this is the case what are they for seen there is no factory Bluetooth installed? And no I don't get a bong when start up.

Might be worth having a read through this thread for some information on your problem, although a resolution appears to be a bit hit and miss - http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... me#p540785

Re: Nav plus questions
Audi don't seem to have thought out the startup volume setting properly, but here's something that works for SOME people - not all.Blairh2 wrote:1. Is this really a factory setting and does everyone just put up with having to turn the radio volume down every time the car is started? Seems crazy!
If you put the RNS-E into Engineering Mode and select Radio Test Menu 3 you'll see the volume at the top of the screen, adjust that to the startup volume you want and turn the RNS-E off.
For around 50% of people that have tried this (I'm a Moderator on audiforum.us so that's several hundred people) it works, so it might work for you but it might not. If it doesn't then it's as Dal has said and you'll have to adjust it manually every time.

Re: Nav plus questions
Petrol dave - I gather you mean adjust the volume via the dial when in the screen? If so, then unfortunately doesn't work for me as radio just defaults back to volume 7 when turned on.
Thanks for your help though.

Re: Nav plus questions
Hi
Have you looked in setup or menu while listening to radio for example and find a ON Volume setting.?
You have to remember the head unit has a cd "on volume" and a radio "on volume" as far as i remember.
Regards to your Nokia Kit most likely to be a Nokia CK7W am i correct?
Thanks

I did, like I said it only seems to work for about 50% of people - and there doesn't seem to be any discernible reason why it will or won't workBlairh2 wrote:Petrol dave - I gather you mean adjust the volume via the dial when in the screen? Re: Nav plus questions
There is no such option on the RNS-E.anissuba wrote:Have you looked in setup or menu while listening to radio for example and find a ON Volume setting.?
