Privilege were best for me and they also insure the mods too. Some will only repair the car to standard spec. It Was also way cheaper to add my wife as a named driver, than to just me insured

Admiral - mine's on a multicar with them with all mods declared - decat, CAF, ported and deflapped manifold and stage 2 mrc map. It was a bit of a faff getting them to understand and correctly log all the mods but got there in the end.

I've used "admiral" and am using a division of them "diamond" at the moment. Used "more than" in the past - they were pretty good when I wrote off the RS4.

Do Admiral know what a CAF is when you tell them or do you have to do into detail? Does it out the price up?

Cheers

i used direct line but i only had a remap so only had to tell them the increase in power which was only 8% most insures will increase the price per mod but really just get on the phone to a few and see what the quotes are like i change from a broker to a main insurer becasue the broker took the piss and put my premium up by £300 so Shop about

Has anyone declared or know if you have to declare tinted windows?

YES when you get to the options page you will find they have a list of options that they want to know if you have, tinted windows are there and they even want to know the % of tint in the front and rear windows, i don't think you need to declare factory fitted as standard tinted windows but if you darken them further, you need to inform them.

Does anyone know if the declaring of things like tints is just if you have had it done after purchase, or do you have to declare tints if it was a factory thing? By that I mean, as tints were a factory option from Audi, do they have to be declared as a modification?

If you couldn't buy the car from the dealership without "Tinted windows, fitted as standard" then you don't need to declare them, only aftermarket tinting that you do yourself to make the windows darker.

You're leaving a gap there Victor. You could buy the car without tinted windows, but equally could have them as an option. Agree that aftermarket mods have to be declared, but my understanding has always been that factory fitted options were covered as standard

Admiral told me they wont cover Mods on my multi car, so i have put the car on traders while i find a company that will cover the mods for me. looks like a call to them on Mondya asking them what the issue is and why they says they dont cover Mods when clearly they do.
