on route to work this morning at 6am driving on the A14 i come upto a black RS4, had a miltek.
As i get next to it on the roof is the Police LED lights, ive not passed the drivers window yet and im still thinking to myself that cant be? As i creep forward more both the driver and passenger look at me, and then that changed my mind, it was a police car, it had comfort seats in, i got in front of him and drove at like 72mph and then he flew past me, dont think he floored it past as i opened the window and it didnt sound like a car on full chat. Does carbon build up affect the sound?
I wasnt in my RS6 today as if i was i think i would of got 3 points as the part of the A14 i saw him on is the bit where i get carried away when im in the RS6.
Reg was D1 SMK but its clearly obvious that its a police car due to the roof lights.
Take care

Private number plate which is a first for a police car. Btw I have a stealthy black RS4 and I live near M6/ A14.
It wasn't me pretending

Surely not, too old, unlikely to have been modified and a cheap private plate?

Maybe is ones that's been seized in the past and it's too good to sell for cash

Part of their scheme to used seized cars as unmarked cars? Plenty of Forces do it now.

i have seen locally an old 51 reg 307, it has black wheels and it tries to get boy racers to go for it, when they do the lights come on.
not sure what they are upto.
It did go to towards the M6 as i went M1.
i have no idea what force its from but deffo had black miltek as i could see the shiney box's and slightly upturned tailpipe. Comfort seats make sense as they can get out of them quicker to up and run.

i thought there where ment to be budget cuts in place? surly the fuel bill alone would be excessive..

But consider they path nothing for the car vs. £20k plus for a new standard police area car. Even if you fuel the RS4 it won't cost anything near as much.

Good point, so they are still up in that sense.
i suppose they would catch a few people out, its only the lights on the roof that gave it away.

I test drove it before I got mine, unfortunately the lights got removed by then

BMW gave South Carolina (where the US factory is) some M5's for police use
after 9/11 Audi, BMW and MB gave NY a bunch of motorcycles and SUV's, iirc, 300-400 hundred

Maybe it was a doctor?
When I was out filming with the Ambulance Service a few years back some of the Doctors had their private vehicles blue lighted up. Among them a 911 Convertible and a Z4.
Or did they have police uniforms on?
Just a thought

I'd say doctor.
I saw Mazda 6 on a 2006 reg with blue lights last week, def not police issue.

Don't be so sure - I got pulled last year on the M27 by a pale blue Mazda 6 MPS unmarked Police car, fortunately I wasn't going "too" fast and he was in a good mood so we just had a "chat"

I was referring to the fact it was 7 years old rather than being a Mazda for why I thought it was unlikely to be a police car.
PS BX12 *** Silver A4 Avant unmarked police car in Birmingham, got the little lights in side of front bumper which are a give away.
