Replacement RS4 Recaro seat leather?

Post by Geezertronic » Thu Feb 07, 2013 8:22 pm

Hi All

Does anyone know where I can get some replacement leather trim for my RS4 Recaro seats? They are the seats with the RS4 logo at the top of them and the existing seat leather is black but worn.

TIA

Check Teutonic's post where he got his seats reskinned: http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... 60#p532851

Also what sort of cost is it for the hide from Audi if you did

cheers
Not from Audi, they have officially stopped doing 'Valcona Leather Black Metallic' so ordered from here:

It's called 'Car leather S0834 colour anthrazit matallic' and is a perfect match, may even be made by the same manufacturers.

If the seat is solid black then it's Valcona (as above) but if you have the silver contrast edging then it's Nappa

I have about half a skin left from my re-trim (enough to do the front seats) if you're interested

How much would you want for it? I need to get my fronts done at some point.

EDIT, SORRY THE LEATHER I HAVE IS FOR THE BUCKET SEATS WHICH IS 'Valcona Leather Black Metallic N5M'

Worn in what way? If you mean it is shiney and showing cracks or the bolsters have gone soft all of that is repairable through refurbishment rather than replacement Only if the leather has split will you need to replace it. Find yourself a good auto upholsterer and they can do this. I had my driver seat done; seat was taken out, the bolsters rebuilt with bettter foam, recovered, redyed and, lacquered and nourished for around £250 IIRC. The seat looked as new and the same condition as the passenger and rear seats. Simon will be able to vouch for how weel it is holding up since he is the car's current owner if he's reading.

TPS / Audi will want £300 for the base leather and £600 for the upright on Recaro comforts, more for the buckets. And then you have to have it fitted

Thanks for the replies guys. This is actually an insurance job and the company doing the repairs have now replaced the seat leather but despite the Audi part number being for Soul Metallic Black leather, it has come as a more grey colour of leather. I'm currently dealing with the Shop where the car was fixed and with Audi for it.

FYI: the price for the replacement leather is £455 (inc VAT)for each seat piece so the parts price would be £910 plus fitting - luckily I'm not paying :)

Do you have any pics of the seat when it was completed?

You will be very lucky if you find any!

I contacted the Leatherhouse as mentioned in this thread even they have stopped supplying it. They sent me some other samples but nothing matched. Hopefully I have tracked down some from a used rear bench seat to repair my bolster. Good luck with the search
