Was just wondering. I only use the car on a weekend really so it's stood all week, when I go to move the car after its been stood brakes seem to be rusted on, they soon free off but should this happen after only a week, or is it because of this cold weather? Any ideas

Happens to mine occasionally even though it's left with the handbrake off. Probably worse at the moment cos of all the wet/salt/general road grime.

Only drive myself at the weekends too. I have had this with every car I have owned and not just the RS.

I keep mine with the handbrake of in gear.

Yep sounds pretty normal, used to happen to me too. What I do now though is: when I put it in the garage I always roll in and stop the car without using the brakes, switch off the ignition, leave the handbrake off and put it in gear.

I think if you stop the car with the brakes and then leave it for a few days the brakes pads like you mention seem to have stuck to the discs. It goes without saying the method I use may not be possible if your garage or driveway is not completely flat.

It seem to be working for me anyway!! :beerchug:

Never heard of it happening to an Audi, bu I've had cars in the past that when they aged a bit, the rubber protecting the handbrake cable would perish / split and water would get in. During the colder nights the water would freeze resulting in you unable to release the handbrake. This would appear like the brakes are stuck on for a while until they either thawed and released or the sheer mechanical force would release them.
