Re: Avus Avant 2008 should I?

Nice looking car. What country is that? I actually prefer LHD, and did consider a Euro purchase, but exchange rates make them expensive.....
- is that a 'straight' silver (rather than Avus) ??
- is it optics but with normal grill? Or blacked-out trim??

South Africa
Rhd indeed, not optics, just the wheels and roof rails, but looks good in the flesh!
Going to drive it again tomorrow
Can't stop thinking about it now

Re: Avus Avant 2008 should I?
That's really nice. Silver suits the avant much more than the saloon.
Re: Avus Avant 2008 should I?
Avus is a great colour. If the Sprint car I bought hadn't worked out, I'd probably have gone for an Avus car. They look even better in the metal too.
Why shouldn't you? What size family do you have? (Number of kids, ages, heights of you all). If it has the buckets, which it really must, there is not much room in the back at all (and I doubt that much with the comfort seats). If you have a another family wagon and this is for occasional duty in that mode, then you should be OK.
Outside of that? Just do it.

What's the point... the cops there hide behind bushes (in the middle of nowhere) and bust you with lasers. Twice.

Re: Avus Avant 2008 should I?
Actually drove this car - quite nice.
Was considering trading my RS4 saloon for it, only thing that hecked me off was the typical Audi Stealer mentality..
Goodluck - its strangely got half the optics - rails, window trim and wheels.

Re: Avus Avant 2008 should I?
My experience with the move from B7 S4 to RS4 was that you go from a perfect easy to drive 100% everyday sports saloon that can be 85% sports car when you need it to a 100% sports car. Given that most my driving is round town the S4 was perfect. The RS is 100% sports car and it feels wrong to tootle up the shops in it - it just wants to given the boot every time you drive it! I can't do that with my work / driving. I also worry about carbon build up if you aren't revving it.
Solution for me was to buy a B5 RS4 for everyday and kep the B7 for when I can give it some.
Notwithstanding, i love driving the B7 when i can - if you buy it you'll love it!
Good luck

Avus Avant 2008 should I?
Drive it this morning, love it
Better ride than the S4 obviously more power, heavier clutch, better brakes and oddly for the 30 mins I had it, fuel consumption lower than what I get when I boot the B6
It doesnt have Bose sound like my car but sound system not bad, plus the exhaust note makes up for it! No navigation but that is an easy fix I think
Going back on Tuesday to do the math on trade in, hoping all works out
Looking forward to motor plan as well

Power feel ok?
Half optics was odd but in the flesh the titanium rails and wheels look awesome on Avus, pics don't do the color justice
Re: Avus Avant 2008 should I?
I've always wanted the Avant, and didnt come across one with right mileage, condition etc, eventually bought the saloon. Dont get me wrong, I'm very happy with my saloon and it has the Optics (mirrors and wheels) but the Avant is the business mate..
Power, the very same - only difference is the look and feel. Avant isnt for everyone, but I'd still take it over a saloon. The gave me a dodgy trade even with FWP extended on my car (2007) but as mentioned in my previous - Audi Stealer mentality.
Let me know if you do buy it..GLWP
