Might not be much but have asked all my friends if any of them work or know someone who works for the mainstream media as I feel this story needs a much larger audience. It may not get anywhere but is worth a try to spread the word even more even in the faintest hopes it may be the story that makes a difference.

I've posted on Grampian Police's Facebook page to try and start some dialogue. It needs to hit the national press really in order to get some answers from them.

They have been removing comments that 'weren't relevant to this thread' - it's a bollox cycle bike thread.

I've had a friend who works in the media contact me and seems interested in the story so hopefully it may get some good media coverage at last.

Excellent. It needs to go to front-page Pistonheads, Top Gear and maybe get Chris Harris to comment, the whole situation needs clarification.

We new to get medieval on these greasy fingered scum. I think most decent people would absolutely back bringing back corporal punishment for the worst crimes against society.

I'm not saying we hang car thieves but I'd certainly support taking fingers. These people give up their human rights when they decide its better to steal from decent hard working folk than work for a living.

We need to seriously discourage wanna be criminals and crime with proper deterrants. By lopping of a few fingers I think people would seriously think twice about the implications.

Get me a rusty spoon and ill quite happily sign up!

Go to Singapore... Not saying its perfect but everybody knows the rules.
When I was there an American 'yoof' got caught vandalising cars... Sentenced to 46 public lashes.
The us government lodged a protest and said it wasn't appropriate that one of its citizens be treated as such.
The protest was considered and the result was 46 public lashes.

Bet the stupid fecker didn't do it again.

Members of the Cabinet and Shadow Cabinet are "supposed" to always agree with the "party line" - that's referred to as "collective responsibility".

In business it's known as "management stick together even if it makes them all look like idiots" :bigblink:

Don't fully understand the plastic/spare key quote in that piece.

Whereas newer model audis come with a two piece spare/plastic key, I thought the rs4 came with a single piece spare key. The newer two part keys have a generic holder/adapter piece that is stored in the glovebox and a bespoke blade that you're meant to keep in your wallet or equivalent.

Is there actually a specific place in the glovebox where the rs4 spare key is stored? (Not that I would want to keep it there anyway).

I'm asking because I've never had a replacement key of any type for mine. It only came with the two remote control keys and so i'm wary, that unbeknown to me, there is another one stashed away somewhere.

** also can't find info in ElsaWin on reprogramming/pairing keys. I'd want to go through the process of getting the car to "forget" all previous keys and then sync only the two I have.

As I recall I have a single piece plastic key as well as the 2 normal keys. I don't think there is place for it in the glovebox but then again I keep discovering new things all the time, even after 2 and a half years.

I think you can re-programme keys using VCDS.

Yes, I have a 'wallet' key but it was on another keys fob - it doesn't 'pop out' of a key like on VW keys.
