Guys
Trying to convince myself I don't want a 335d touring and I NEED a rs4 avant in my life, but really how bad are rs4's b5 or b7's on fuel? I'm not expecting the same as the Beemer obviously but really how bad are they?
Cheers
Simon

About 220-250 miles on a tank with usual town driving, over 300 on my trip down to Edinburgh last weekend though.

Well my drive to work and stuff is all in the sticks or motorway driving so should hopefully see late 200's? Luckily no town driving for me

When I lived on London I got 120 miles to a tank. Now I'm in he country side with no traffic and all A roads / dual carriageways / motorways, I get 200 to a tank. If I do a whole tank on the motorway then about 250 to high 200s.

Mike just seen your 120 to a tank *gulp* I can't afford that!!! I do roughly 40 miles a day for work unless I'm at another site.

I average about 150 - 190 miles a tank. Quite a lot of short town journies and when i get on a run I give it the beans. You can obviously get a lot more on steady motorway runs

I got 310 out my last tank going to Aberdeen and back. Around the town and playing in the wet I get bout 210 to a tank. 18-20 mpg it's 26 mpg on the motorway run with cruise on at 74mph

And I'm assuming it costs about 90 quid to fill it?

Prior to the AmD remap and de-coke I was getting around 230-240 miles in mixed driving conditions, now it's 270 miles on average with just over 300 last week which was all motorway miles.

Depends on where you fill. I always fill up before the light comes but regularly pay £80-90 for 99RON. And that's at Tesco which is relatively cheap. Ultimately it's a 60 litre tank and I typically put in 50 to 55 litres per visit so times that by the price per litre at your local petrol station.

I think I could handle 300 to a tank, but any less I would have to stick with the Beemer choice, just wish diesels sounded better lol!

If fuel ecnomy is a concern don't buy an RS4, simple. In 5 years of owership on motorway trips and my daily commute whih was pretty much all dual carriageway then I'd get 300-340 per tank and that is from brimming it to 20miles past 0 on DIS so the full 70 litre tank (or near enough)
In town and on a hoon it would be 200-240. Average whilst using it for the commute was 22.1mpg, when jsut using it as a weekend car then teens, 20mpg at best.

so between about 180 and 320 miles depending on short & fast or long &slow journeys. your mileage may vary, but probably not that much!
