Finally fitted my springs on Saturday that i bought from Andy (RS4shaw). Big thanks. Gives the car a far better look to it now. Very happy with it. Feels a bit sharper too. :kissmyrings:

That is front and rear springs fitted. The spacers are 8mm front and 10mm rear.

I fitted them myself. Wasn't too big a deal to fit. Couldn't justify paying someone for 4-6 hours work so decided to do it myself.

You're more than welcome to have a good look at that them or even a drive in it to see if you fancy them.

really? well done. i thought (reading on here) that you need to re-gas the drc or something difficult?

i might take you up on your offer one day to have a good look and maybe a wee drive. i think i really improves especially the front looks, and if the drive becomes better, then that would be a bonus too!!

thx Alex. i'll be in touch!

That looks great Alex. How do you avoid unconnecting DRC?

Robert,

Any time you fancy a better look then just let me know. You're only 10 mins away from me. I go back to work next Monday.

Simon,

A few guys on here have done it the same way as me and not disconnected the DRC. It's a wee bit more awkward but it's only the front that is the problem but no big deal really.

fitting yourself is impressive stuff.

Would you be willing to post a write up of the procedure?

Thanks Alex. Fitted coilovers etc before several times, so I'm sure I'd manage. Just a case of swapping the spring right at the wheel arch I guess, rather than on a bench?

How's the lowering on speed bumps? Any issues?

My wife drive the RS4 more than me, as it's the family wagon, so I can't compromise it too much else I'll get it in the neck, lol !

Simon,

You are correct with regards swapping the spring in the wheel arch rather than on a bench. I just clamped the spring then disconnected the strut and had it facing out the wheel arch. The new spring doesn't need to be compressed but having an extra pair of hands to help with putting the nut on a couple of threads is invaluable. I needed to support the strut and compress the spring whilst someone put the nut on.

No issues with speed bumps. I have 2 different types of speed bumps in my street and no scraping. Still drive over them at the same speed as before.
Women however, are a different problem altogether lol.

Faz,

Hope these pics are of use to you. If not i can take some more for you.

Thanks Alex. I'm sure I could tackle that if I decide to give it a go then. Thanks for the info. Women, agreed lol.
