Yes I reckon 40k ish,I'm a fan of the golf the cabin is a nice place to be,hope it happens because I'm going to jump into a 335d 535d or golf gtd,sad but the new 4 just isn't an my radar it should offer more than it does for the running costs.

I'd look at an RS3 if they could be arsed to make it look different to an s line and handle better than a golf.

Yup,I sat in fully loaded vw managers car and was very very impressed, the quality is very very good, for me it could be a great all in one car instead of running a commuter alongside the RS,some of the big diesels are offering good real world performance especially mapped, the r400 golf though looks a potential BEAST

Love the concept of the R400.
Only let down for me is the four pot?
All four pots sound <beep> that's a fact.....should have had the 5 pot from the RS3...for the noise alone.

Not wanting to sound like a "cylinder snob" but four pots just don't do it for me anymore? Although I suppose that the way the automotive world seems to be going?...down sizing.

+1

Four pots will always sound bad and create more interior resonances because of the strong second order imbalance (I spent several years working on second order noise cancellation systems).

If companies feel the need to downsize then IMHO a three-pot sounds much better than a four pot - as it has much of the same half-orders that a five pot has (which is one of the reasons I like the sound of my three pot C1 and the wife's three pot Fabia) - but there's nothing like a V8 :jump_clap:
